HONEY DEW DONATES OVER 36,000 PROTEIN BARS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
Food pantries and community centers across Massachusetts receive Mocha Madness™ Protein Bars for people and families in need.
Plainville, MA (December 2018)— Recently, Honey Dew was pleased to present over 20 local food pantries and community organizations with 10 cases each of Mocha Madness™ Protein Bars. Organizations include Harvest House Food Pantry in Abington, Murray Unitarian Universalist Church in Attleboro, and the South Shore YMCA Germantown Neighborhood Center in Quincy, MA. In total, over 36,000 bars have been donated. The bars, which launched chain-wide at Honey Dew in early 2018, are packed with 14 grams of protein, essential vitamins, minerals and are naturally flavored. Each bar is individually wrapped and labeled with nutritional and ingredient information, making it an ideal food item for pantries to carry and recipients to enjoy.
“We are thrilled to be able to make this donation to the local food banks and centers that help the less fortunate. This time of year can be daunting for individuals and families who are in need and we want to do all we can to assist during their difficult times” said Richard Bowen, President of Honey Dew.
Also, in early November, Honey Dew donated 1,000+ bars to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay’s. The nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through young adulthood in communities across the country. Developing positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. Honey Dew and Big Brothers Big Sisters have been community partners since Spring of 2018 and will continue into 2019. More news and events will be announced regarding the partnership in the upcoming months.
